»February's Book List

So along with posting an overview of all the movies I watched for the first time during a month, I'm going to be making a list of the books I plan to/hope to read each month.

As much as I love reading, I don't actually read that often. I have a lot of excuses: I like to multitask and it is a task that doesn't really allow that; I like to read books in one or two sittings and so that usually takes up a whole day; it is easier to sit in front of the TV and get caught up in the visual-y-ness of it.

But moving on! Seeing as I'm just starting out and I'm not used to reading a lot every month, I'm only going to plan on reading 2 books this time around. Of course, if I decided to read more, then I suppose that's great... but for now...

Wish me luck. As of now, I'm not sure if I'll write a review after I finish each book or not but there is that possibility. We'll see how I feel I guess. :)

01. Fight Club
Written by Chuck Palahniuk
Published in 1996
The book follows the experiences of an unnamed protagonist struggling with insomnia. Inspired by his doctor's exasperated remark that insomnia is not suffering, he finds relief by impersonating a seriously ill person in several support groups. An encounter with a fellow "tourist" Marla drives him back into insomnia until he meets a mysterious man named Tyler Durden and establishes an underground fighting club as radical psychotherapy.

The book was made into a movie, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, which I love and when I saw the book in the bookstore, I thought why not?!

02. The Lovely Bones
Written by Alice Sebold
Published in 2002
It is the story of a teenage girl who, after being murdered, watches from heaven as her family and friends go on with their lives, while she herself comes to terms with her own death.

I want to see the movie, thought I may as well read the book first because I hear such good things about it.
